Ware County has named former Pierce County head man Jason Strickland as its new head coach.

Strickland is coming off of a final four appearance with the Bears, including an undefeated regular season and region championship.

Under Strickland in 2018, Pierce County averaged 39 points per, something that Gator fans will surely be excited about.

Speaking to ESPN Coastal earlier today, Strickland spoke on his hiring, “First off, extremely thankful to Pierce County. Grateful to the kids and all of the people in the program. It was truly a blessing to be a part of. I’m very excited about this new opportunity, and very excited to get started at Ware County.”.

Ware County finished 2018 with an 8-4 record, including a 35-0 loss to Warner Robins in the second round of the GHSA playoffs.

Following last season, head coach Franklin Stephens left Ware for McEachern in North Atlanta.

Strickland will inherit a loaded, young team at Ware County, led by quarterback Thomas Castellanos.
