Maroon 5 Announced as Super Bowl LIII Halftime Performers
Maroon 5 has been announced as the halftime performance for Super Bowl LIII. The 3 time Grammy Award winners are a great get for any show, but the common perception was that the organizing committee was going to go with a performer with Atlanta roots.
Fans, especially those from Atlanta, don’t seem thrilled with the pick.
WTF. Outcast, Usher, Ludicrous, T.I, Migos, Yeezy, Lil Jon are ATL originals and we get Maroon 5?🤷🏾♂️ https://t.co/7Y3XLgNh0u

Maroon 5 is fine. But it's on tee for you right there, NFL: OUTKAST

With Atlanta’s amazing hip hop and R&B Heritage the NFL goes with Maroon 5 for the Super Bowl halftime show. (Variety reporting). Lame.

Atlanta, home of Outkast, T.I., Future, Ludacris, Usher, etc., gets Maroon 5 to play the damn Super Bowl. pic.twitter.com/KHpGNRsJGX

I’m sure Adam Levine and Maroon 5 will put on a great show, but when you think of how truly epic this show could’ve been: Ludacris, TLC, Lil Jon, Bubba Sparxxx, T.I., Outkast, 2 Chainz, Waka, Future, Migos, Usher, Gucci, Ying Yang Twins, Sugarland, Mike WiLL, Lil Yachty, etc, you have to be disappointed.
The fact that the first song of the halftime show wont be “Welcome to Atlanta” should be a crime.
This was an opportunity to showcase how truly amazing and unique Atlanta is. Instead, it will be what every Super Bowl is, corporate.
